The Lost History of Saltair -A Book and Documentary Project

No worries. Once I am further along, I'll try to work in another pre-sale kind of thing.

Right now nowhere. I am working on a proposal for an publisher and also looking into the self publishing route. Once I get to that point then I'll have a better answer.

Great, I will be on the lookout Off topic, but I am also writing a book. It is just cool to know there are other writers out there who love amusement/ funparks. Of course, do not look to me for originality, just look at my "creative" name.  Tongue

What style will your book be in? Or documentary story? Or whatever your calling it?
I miss classic, original  funnel cakes.

The style I am going for is to explain the story as it happened but not just reciting facts, but making them flow. My intent is to have the readers be able to imagine themselves there. To make history come alive.

Whats your book about?

Well, it is pretty different from your book. Very different.  It is a fiction, and I have been writing different drafts of it for about four years now, so it should be good. It is an adventure kind of fantasy book. Basically, the end of the world has happened. So it is kind of an apocalypse survival story, but not really at the same time, because there is a twist to it, and their is magic. And aliens. The best way  I can describe it is an apocalyptic version of harry potter and star wars, and some kind of superhero story. I sent it to one of my family memebers who has published a book, so I am waiting to hear back from him.

I thought about writing a lagoon fun fact book, or an amusement park book, or something for a while. But I got interested in fiction. Or maybe I was kind of sad once I figured out that the lagoon history book beat me to it ha ha. My book is called Whispers of Today. Like I said, it is different from yours lol. I actually started writing an informative book a few years ago with material in it to educate someone who wanted to know more about theme parks or amusement parks. But I don't know why, I just lost interest.

Through some extensive research, I believe to have narrowed down the area where the "Lake Shore" resort was located. This is the last of the bathing resort locations I needed to find its location. My book will feature in the beginning details about each of the 8 resorts that came before Saltair. This is done in order to allow the reader to understand Saltair's design easier as it was built taking in the considerations of how the resorts before it were built.

A few years back, there was an attempt to revitalize Saltair by introducing gaming. The idea was that you would pay to learn traditional casino games in a safe environment where the only money you lose is the entrance fee. Looks like things didn't go so well from the description on this video.
