Maybe car rides are making a comeback. I know Zamperla has their U-Drive ride. Lagoon could make a Speeway revival. https://www.zamperla.com/products/u-drive/

I usually advocate for European Rides, however, Chance Rides has an Electric Car Ride that I experienced at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and was impressed with. Gilroy Gardens, Universal Studios Singapore, Ferrari Land Abu Dhabi, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Lake Compounce, Columbus Zoo, and Morgan's Wonderland all have these, and a couple more. There's no collisions possible and an operator can move the car to a loading position without having to get into the car.
