Hackenslash, I want to encourage you to use the search feature because a lot of the questions you have asked can easily be answered by searching the forum. We do not mind discussing stuff that has been brought up before, it's just that sometimes it gets old repeating information over and over again when a user fails to do some looking for the information on their own first

I ran a search on Speedway Sr. and got the following results. These three mention the removal of Speedway Sr. and may briefly discuss your question. Feel free to read over them. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask in this topic. Thanks!

Uh, do you like Cliffhanger and Spider? Just wondering... more than an old Speedway?
I never went on the Speedway. Autopia is fun though. Even more fun than Double Thunder I think. But it is the 21st century, and new times call for new technology!

Is Autopia like the old speed way?

Um...generally, it's the same idea. But not exactly the same. Speedway, Sr. was shorter, but I always loved it. Even with the long wait.

But was it like the same concept?

This is why I LOVE Cedar Point.....Three Car Rides (Cadillac Cars, Turnpike Cars, & Antique Autos). Cedar Point has had the opportunity to removed all three of them over the years but haven't. All of them have had their Routes altered to accommodate additions to the park. It would have been much easier and cheaper to remove Cadillac Cars and/or Turnpike Cars when Raptor was built but instead just altered their routes and built the coaster around them. Cedar Point has also continued to Excellently Maintain their Original Arrow Development Cars. I was excited to see all of the Arrow Development Cars from Kings Island sent to parks throughout Cedar Fair, after they were removed by Paramount for the addition of Italian Job Stunt Coaster which was a POOR Decision IMO.

Yeah Speedway was an awesome ride. That is one thing that impressed me the first time I went to CP was that they still had these type of rides. Autotopia was a blast too.
