Monorail Crash at WDW
#1
This is old news, but disney did a good job of covering it up (it did not make it to big news stations) I found it rather shocking that someone actually got a camera here and got this online without disney paying him to take it off line. From what I searched this was the only accident on the WDW monorail system. Any coments.

Notice - This is a bit grim remember the pilot is dead in the cab.

Just because it wasn't on any of the "big news stations" doesn't mean it didn't make the news. They would have reported it if they wanted to. Obviously there were bigger stories that day.
Why would Disney pay him to remove it?

What I really want to know is why the person recording this decided the best thing he could do in this situation was get a video of this and post it online. Apparently he felt he'd get more out of being the guy who caught it on tape than out of trying to figure out how to help. It's bad enough it happened. There are several guys there trying to figure out how to help and even the cast member seems to admit he's not sure what to do. Instead of trying to act like he knows better than others he's trying to see if anyone can help. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Disney would pay him to remove it becaues it looks bad to the company, and yes I agree it is horrible that they posted it online.

The thing I am supprised by is how the station attendent runs up and yells "The Driver is Dead!" infront of guests, the guests handled the situation better than the cast member.

Wow. The guy with the camera is a serious asshole, to put it lightly. Why would you just stand around and record something like that?

I realize that, but it would look worse if they paid him to remove the video.

The big surprise here is that apparently CNN, ABC and Fox News are not big news companies.

Thank You for doing the work so I didn't have to! Laugh In fact, this was a HUGE News Story when it happened both Nationally and Internationally. The NTSB was actually involved in the Investigation as well. Wink

Someone thinks they could have actually covered up an accident at the most attended Theme Park in the world?
