Former Pixieland park to be celebrated next month - Brăden - 05-17-2017

The short-lived Pixieland amusement park, which was the original home of Lagoon's Log Flume and one of the Wild Kingdom trains, is being celebrated next month in Lincoln City, Oregon. A member of their chamber of commerce contacted me recently interested in the current home of their old rides. They plan to have some informational displays showing the rides then and now. Here's a link to the official site and an article if anyone is interestred:

...and, coincidentally, Log Flume is getting some fresh wood siding.  Perhaps not so coincidentally, eh?

I have a gripe about the beautiful new stone wall that was installed inside the Olde Mill terrace. They built it too high! I can't see the log splashes while eating a pulled pork sandwich anymore  Chagrin

Anyone who has operated or been an Area Lead in PV knows how common it was to have guests or even foods employees, jump that fence and enter the ride enclosure. I can't tell you how many times as an operator I had to hit the E-Stop from the Station after seeing someone hop over it, or as a Crew Lead and Area Lead witnessing guests hopping over it to retrieve a hat or other loose article. That wall, while does block a great view, may save a life or someone from serious injury.
